Responsibilities: Performs patient assessments for acute and chronically ill or injured students according to professional standards and practices; documents history and clinical findings; assists in minor surgical procedures; administers immunizations and medications; provides care for students in emergency situations; provides patient education; acts as a health care consultant related to international travel and study; and collaborates with appropriate staff on the development and improvement of goals, protocols, policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; current Iowa Registered Nurse license; at least one year of nursing experience working in a college or medical office; and experience in electronic health record documentation required. Experience in a college health center and with the medical and psychological conditions prevalent among college students preferred.
