Assistant Professor, Kinesiology & Athletic Training

The University of Northern Iowa’s Department of Kinesiology and Athletic Training seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Sports Nutrition position, starting in August 2025. We are seeking professionals committed to the academic and professional preparation of Kinesiology majors, many of whom will pursue advanced degrees in health-related fields.
 
Primary responsibilities include teaching nutrition-related courses such as ‘Physical Activity & Nutrition’ and ‘Sports Nutrition’ at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; conducting research and engage in scholarly activities; supervising undergraduate and graduate research projects; and participating in professional service. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Nutrition, Human Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related field (ABD will be considered); demonstrated expertise in sports nutrition; demonstrated record of effective teaching; and demonstrated ability to conduct research and publish manuscripts required. 
 
Preferred Qualifications: Prior university-level teaching experience; experience in curriculum development and a demonstrated interest in expanding academic programs in Dietetics and Nutrition; strong background in research methodology and statistics; and ability to teach Exercise Science classes preferred.
