Responsibilities: Leads recruitment of students with traditionally lower college enrollment rates, including low-income and first-generation students; plans and implements on and off campus recruitment programs for these populations; supports overall Admissions operations by reviewing admission applications, meeting with prospective students and their families; serves as a member of the Admissions leadership team; serves as liaison to various university departments and programs serving first generation and low income students; contributes to campus retention and student success initiatives for populations with lower completion rates; and serves as leader for summer Jump Start program.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; at least three years of admissions, student services, college advocacy, community outreach, or related experience; excellent oral and written communication skills; and experience organizing programs and events for student populations required. Master’s degree; demonstrated success in building cooperative working relationships with families, community-based organizations, faculty, alumni, students, high school and community college staff; ability to multitask; excellent attention to detail; experience in leading or advising student groups; experience managing data and analysis for reports; and proficiency in Spanish (ILR Level 2 – Limited working proficiency) preferred. Frequent travel, including overnight travel will be necessary. Frequent evening and weekend work will also be necessary.
