Assistant Athletic Trainer/Instructor

Impact & Responsibilities: Assists with the supervision and coordination of the University's overall sports medicine and athletic training services in consultation with and under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Training Services/Head Athletic Trainer, team physician(s) and other qualified medical personnel; serves as head athletic trainer for assigned sport(s) by the Head Athletic Trainer in conjunction with Athletics; assists with the development and implementation of student athlete welfare and educational programs including but not limited to NCAA drug testing, substance abuse programming, and nutritional guidance; and provides instruction and supervision in coursework as part of the University's Athletic Training Education Program under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Training Education.
 
Requirements: Master's Degree; certification by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC); and Athletic Training Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the State of Iowa.
 
Preferred: NCAA Division I experience; experience with manual therapy rehabilitation techniques; and experience with aquatic therapy and aquatic treadmill equipment.
