Job Description
Position: Grant & Contract Coordinator Status: Part-Time, 28hr work week Scheduled Hours: Monday Thru Thursday 10:00 to 4:30, Friday 9:30 – 2:00pm Reports to: Development Director Job Overview: The Grant and Contract Coordinator is responsible for researching and writing grants and contracts. This includes developing relationship with funders, tracking applications and reporting. Qualifications: The ideal Grant & Contract Coordinator for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank understands and is passionate about the organization’s mission to provide nutritious food and grocery product to those in need in our 16 county service area. This individual will be a vital component of the Development Department by engaging the community support through Foundations, Businesses, and Churches who have grant opportunities available. This team member must demonstrate outstanding ability to manage a large portfolio of annual grants and reports while taking the time to research for new funding sources. The key is to have the ability to work in a fast-paced and progressive environment. A passion for social justice and compassion for others are keys to being a staff member at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. The Northeast Iowa Food Bank strives to work as a unified team to close the meal gap in northeast Iowa, to this end the Grant & Contract Coordinator will need to be capable of working as a team, as well as being a self-starter. In addition, maintaining a positive outlook will play a large role in being a motivator and encourager for the community, clients, and staff members alike. Responsibilities: • Research Corporations, Foundations, Churches and other groups for grant funding opportunities. • Work with Management staff to plan and develop the priorities for grant, foundation and government funding. • Write, in conjunction with Food Bank Staff, grant requests for all programs and contracts as identified. Ensure appropriate staff is aware of their responsibilities as it relates to gathering information and providing input into the grant process. • Responsible for working with staff to develop evaluations for the programs they manage or coordinate. • Responsible for Grant Monitor Tracking for Grant and Contract Funding. This includes all applications and reporting. • Responsible for timely reporting of all grant and contract funding to the donor, ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner and all correspondence with the donor happen in a timely manner. • Responsible for working with the management team to assist them in developing evaluation tools for their programs. • Responsible for documenting all aspects of the position. • Other duties as assigned.
