Job Description
We are looking for an innovative, motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to assist in the planning, design, and construction of Civil Engineering projects throughout Iowa. Our Team Members work on a wide variety of large and small projects such as streets, subdivisions, site designs, airports, storm and sanitary sewer, water resources, and water/wastewater projects.   
In this role you will work with a team of other like-minded individuals to prepare and review conceptual plans, estimates, designs, drawings and specifications for public infrastructure projects.  You may also be exposed to civil/site land development projects as workload dictates.
You will function under the supervision of a Professional Engineer/Project Manager, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor of Science or higher degree in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
  • Possession of an engineer intern (EI) certificate issued by the State of Iowa or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
  • Shall possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (without insurance restrictions) issued by the State of Iowa.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and the use of computerized office equipment and programs, including MS Office, MS Windows, and BlueBeam products.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to practical engineering problems; to relate abstract ideas to actual needs and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of engineering technicians, ability to manage multiple tasks; ability to communicate and cooperate with officials, subordinates, clients and contractors.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
