Assistant Professor, Mathematics 

The University of Northern Iowa’s College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences- Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track position in Mathematics at the Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at all levels. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics and have a strong potential for teaching excellence and continuous scholarly activity leading to publications. ABDs in Mathematics will be considered with evidence of degree completion by August 2019. The standard teaching load is 18 credit hours per year. The department has a strong tradition of excellence in teaching and supports research in mathematics and mathematics education. Qualified candidates from all areas are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics (ABD will be considered if evidence of degree completion by the start date of August 15, 2019 is provided).
 
Required qualifications include documentation of ability and interest in maintaining a superior teaching record and an emerging or established record of continuous scholarship. Preference will be given to applicants with background in mathematical analysis or an ability and willingness to participate in the department's undergraduate research program.
