Assistant Professor, Flute 

The University of Northern Iowa’s College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences- School of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Flute. The successful candidate will provide individual instruction to undergraduate and graduate flute majors, and will teach related flute literature and pedagogy courses. This position requires a candidate who is committed to work and research in flute pedagogy as well as develop and maintain an active portfolio of scholarly research/creative activities and service, including a national and international profile. Service expectations include recruitment and advisement of talented undergraduate and graduate flute majors, participation on graduate committees, full participation on other School of Music committees, and service at the College and University levels as appropriate.

Earned doctorate in music with advanced studies in Flute by August 19, 2019 required.    
           
Required qualifications include recognition for excellence as a performer with demonstrated skills and understanding of a broad range of performance styles; a documented background in flute pedagogy; and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a studio teacher at the collegiate level.
