Waterloo Leads Virtual State of the City Event

City Highlights and Successes Celebrated in Waterloo Leads! Virtual Event Join Mayor Hart as your host for Waterloo Leads!, a virtual State of the City event on September 15, 2020 at 11:00am. Former Hawkeye Community College Vice President of Enrollment Services and local news veteran Kathy Flynn will co-host the event. The event will focus on the outstanding achievements of the City from the past fiscal year that includes impressive stats, exciting community projects, along with initiatives that demonstrate the City’s leadership in the State of Iowa. Noel Anderson, Director of Community Development, Director of Public Works Randy Bennett, and Director of Leisure Services Paul Hutting will also provide updates on behalf of the City in recent interviews with Flynn. Realtor Amy Wienands, tech company founder Andy Van Fleet, and philanthropy advocate Sharina Sallis will join Mayor Hart in conversations highlighting the expanding housing market, advances in Waterloo’s technology sector, the future of broadband, as well as progress towards inclusion and equity. Plus, Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald will comment on recently passed historic police reforms.
