How Recent and Future Marijuana Legislation May Impact Your Workplace from an Attorney’s Perspective

This workshop is designed to provide information on the legal backdrop associated with how to regulate issues of marijuana usage as it relates to the workplace. The legislative background of regulation of marijuana is important to this discussion. The goals of this training are to: • Create a clearer understanding of what State Law Legislation currently exists regarding marijuana; • Analyze how differences in State laws impact an employer’s workplace policies and enforcement thereof; • What legal ramifications exist for employers in terms of liability to employees, customers or other members of the public as it relates to the issue of marijuana? • What are the future areas in which additional legislation is being sought? • How will future legislative changes impact legal issues relate to marijuana usage in the workplace?
