Cedar Falls Public Safety invites the community to a National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 5, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Center (4600 South Main Street). Guests will get the opportunity to speak with personnel from Cedar Falls Public Safety, the University of Northern Iowa Department of Public Safety, MercyOne Ambulance Service, and Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch during this free event. It will also include kids' activities and games. Young adults are encouraged to learn more about safe driving by experiencing the impaired/distracted driving course, which will be set up at the event. The community can enjoy complimentary hot dogs, chips, and water courtesy of Cedar Falls Hy-Vee and a free cold brew station provided by Starbucks. A lemonade stand hosted by local community members will also be set up. Cups will be a free-will donation with proceeds going towards the Cedar Falls Pink Patch Project. For the event, the public is asked to enter the Public Safety Center from Bluebell Road directly into the fire apparatus bay's large doors.
